How my holidays looked

From Christmas Eve thru the Monday after New Years, I did a very good job of unplugging my brain from the internet. These hands did not touch a keyboard and while admittedly still on my phone, it was mostly for researching something or another vs. hours wasted on social media or in browser sessions. I streamed shows & movies but didn't watch the news. I'm behind on shit. For example, I didn't know the pope guy died until yesterday.

My holidays were fairly typical of my past ones: small family gathering, great food, board games, no gifts, no drama. It's a blessing, really to have that decompression time together.
Not to say I was lazy. First, great food requires significant effort and secondly, I tackled house cleaning/organizing projects. The closet under the stairs that hadn't been empty since 2009? Yep, it's sorted with a new 7.5 ft artificial fir tree and space for a few more items. No more preparing to catch rando projectiles when opening the door.
I did my annual holiday rewatch of sense8 on Netflix in 2 days. Reminder to future self: start s1 e1 on like Dec 15 and stretch it out a bit.
Took as many dog walks as we could in between the rain.
Smoked a ton of cannabis. Not a literal ton but a lot. More than what has become my norm. Morning: sativa to kick body into high gear. I wrote lists beforehand so the sativa tangents didn't affect productivity. Night: indica to aid sleep, turn off the brain, and address the body aches from everything I accomplished during the day.
I started watching that Gen-X series on Disney+. I loved episode 1 but at the end of episode 2 I had a meta moment of:
Gen-X is paying for D+ subscriptions
Gen-X is being directly target-marketed by D+ in the making and airing of this series
Gen-X is being fed propaganda about the greatness of their generation
Which is not to say I dislike. I distrust it to a small degree, exhibiting quintessential Gen-X behavior. I still have 2 episodes left to watch, I'll get to them soon.
Here's me Christmas morning all fancy with curled hair and make-up:

Here's me by the end of Christmas Day after eating, getting high, playing board games, fallen hair, and changing out of my linen green dress to something comfy:

Yes, this blog has sat in drafts for nearly a month. Took me that long to get to photo editing. Next blog will [hopefully] be quicker and about our Walt Disney World excursion including the steps of my Star Wars bounding outfit.
Peace out.
